A priority of the Counseling Center is the development of partnerships with other community organizations, programs and services so that community members can receive the support that is needed to live productive, satisfying lives. The Counseling Center provides support and expertise on academic, clinical training and counseling issues to more than 35 community agencies throughout Greater Los Angeles. Collaborative projects have been developed and implemented with a variety of partner agencies.
Our trainees and associates at the Counseling Center have been honored to combine our efforts with community organizations that provide services to the high need/low resource populations in our community. Our clinicians gain experience working with adjunct services and a multidisciplinary treatment team. Services have been provided in assisted living facilities, substance abuse treatment centers, schools, community medical centers, transitional living facilities and homeless shelters, and other counseling centers. We have a long-standing relationship with many LAUSD and private schools in the community. Our trainees and associates have had the unique opportunity to work with the Department of Probation for more than 10 years, providing services to youth and their families in multiple camps, Juvenile Hall, and in the Camp Community Transition Program. Our clinicians gain experience providing individual, family, and group therapy, as well as learning to work with adjunct services and the probation staff.
