Career History

Clare’s teaching and academic mentorship role at Phillips began in 2010 when she moved from an administrative role within the organization to creating a writing and academic support program for Phillips’ students. She also taught as adjunct faculty in Phillips’ Marriage and Family Therapy Program until 2015 when she transitioned to a full-time Core Faculty position.

Clare teaches in several courses and provides mentorship to students on their journey to becoming mental health practitioners. She is an AAMFT-approved clinical supervisor, providing clinical supervision to trainees and associates in practicum. She has been in private practice since 2011. Before becoming an MFT, Clare worked in marketing, development, and fundraising.

Practice/Areas of Focus

Clare’s teaching interests include research, diversity, group dynamics, and applied theory. In private practice Clare uses a strengths-based integrative approach, using techniques from a variety of therapeutic modalities including postmodern, psychodynamic, attachment theory, and CBT. Clare works with individuals, couples, and families, supporting them across a wide variety of therapeutic issues.
