PRE-MASTER'S TRAINEESHIP
The Pre-Master’s Traineeship is an experiential program designed to prepare MFT students for future clinical work and to provide affordable therapeutic services to the community. There are six different traineeship opportunities, each specializing in different therapeutic modalities, including family systems and post-modern theory. Students are supervised and trained by licensed professionals on a weekly basis, in accordance with the requirements of the Board of Behavioral Sciences. The traineeship programs offer current graduate students enrolled in practicum, the opportunity to see a wide variety of clientele dealing with different issues, such as depression, anxiety, phase of life issues, relationship issues, and substance abuse. The applications for openings in these year-long programs become available in January, with a program start-time in May.
POST-MASTER'S ASSOCIATESHIP
The Post-Master’s associateship is available for California registered associates. There are three programs available for postgraduate associates: Modern, Post-modern, and School-Based Child Therapy. Associates are supervised and trained by licensed professions on a weekly basis, in accordance with the requirements of the Board of Behavioral Sciences. The modern and post-modern associateship programs offer postgraduate students the opportunity to see individuals, families, couples, and children dealing with different issues, such as depression, anxiety, phase of life issues, relationship issues, and substance abuse. Associates in the School-Based program work with elementary school-aged children in the school setting. The applications for openings in these year-long programs become available in January, with a program start-time in May.
